Benefits of Qualifying to the 2008 WSOP with Poker Stars.com
Poker Stars.com is looking to send more then a hundred players to the WSOP and are offering a number of ways to earn a spot at the big event. In addition, the prize package offers so much more than just payment of the Main Event entry fee. In fact, prizewinners also receive hotel accommodations at the Palms for 8 nights and, if you make it to the main event and you wear Poker Stars gear, your accommodations will be further extended until July 15th.
You will also receive free shuttle bus service to and from the event if you win one of the packages and, if you make a TV table, you will receive a cash bonus of up to $50,000. If you make it to the final table, Poker Stars will also give you a $1,000,000 bonus – even if you don’t actually win the event.
Poker Stars 2008 WSOP Qualifiers and Satellites
There are three primary method for winning one of these prize packages. First, you can buy-in directly with one of the cash qualifiers. Or, you can use your Frequent Player Points in one of the FPP qualifiers. Finally, you can fight your way into a spot by participating in one of the Main Event with Steps Sit & Go Satellites.
Poker Stars.com WSOP Cash Qualifiers
Several cash qualifiers take place every day, with buy-ins as low as $2. These qualifiers can be entered at any time by going to the PokerStars lobby and clicking on Events, then on WSOP, and ten on Cash Satellites. There are MTT and Sit & Go Satellites available for those wishing to take the Cash Satellite Path. Winners of these satellites then compete at the Weekly Main Qualifier, which takes place at 6:00 PM on Sunday.
The site also offers a Cash Direct Path that requires entry to a $2+R turbo and then clearing the $33+R turbo to get to the prize package. Or, the Shootout Path, which requires completing the $8.80+R turbo and then the $215 Double Shootout Turbo. Other options include completing the $27+R Turbo and then winning the Weekly European Qualifier on Saturdays at 2:30 PM, entering the $16+R turbo and then winning the weekly Australian qualifier on Sundays at 2:00 AM, or completing the $55+R turbo and then winning the Weekly High Roller Qualifier at 8:30 PM on Fridays.
PokerStars.com WSOP FPP Qualifiers
The FPP Qualifier allow you to use your Frequent Player Points to help you win a spot at the Main Event. For as little as 40 Frequent Player Points, you might find yourself ultimately sitting at the final table.
You can enter the FPP Qualifiers at any time by opening your PokerStars lobby, clicking on Events, then clicking on WSOP, and clicking on FPP Satellites. The site guarantees that at least one person will earn entry to the FPP final for every 4,000 FPP cashed in at the 40+R FPP Turbo level. Players can also choose to enter through the 400 FPP, which is guaranteed to award one entry to the 4,000 FPP final for every ten players to enter. A third option is the 40 FPP, which is guaranteed to award one entry to 4,000 FPP final for every 100 players. All three of these options take place on a daily basis. Every Saturday at 4:00 PM, three prize packages will be awarded to the winners of the FPP final.
Poker Stars.com Steps Sit & Go Satellites
The Steps Sit & Go satellites have buy-ins as low as $7.50 or 500 FPP credits. Thos players that finish in first and second place of any “step” then move on to the next step above. All players making it to Step 6 get to play for the prize package. Players failing to earn one of the top two spots can still win a ticket to the same step. Or, they can buy directly into any step they like. Registration is available at any time by visiting the PokerStars lobby, clicking Events, then clicking WSOP and then clicking Sit & Go Satellites.
