Luckily, Full Tilt Poker is much more than a place where pros play. They have flourished since the 2006 UIGEA when many poker rooms left the US market. They welcome US players and have become the second largest online poker site. They offer large tournaments and high stakes cash games that are a big draw for railbirds and high stakes players.

The bonus at Full Tilt Poker is 100% up to $600 dollars. Although the bonus is a large amount it takes a lot of poker play to earn the full bonus amount. I have done some number crunching and it would take about 11 hours to clear a $50 dollars bonus playing at a NL $.50/1.00 table. This is not impossible by any means but it isn’t an instant bonus like Bodog Poker or as quick to clear as Poker Stars.

Full Tilt Poker has improved their software and it has become well above average in the industry. Their lobby is very clean and easy to navigate. Full Tilt is a large poker room so finding a cash game won’t be a problem. They have thousands of tables with action at almost any limit. Most of the cash games at Full Tilt are Texas Hold-em but they also offer Omaha, Stud, Razz and a mixed games section.

I like playing cash games at Full Tilt Poker because the action is fast and I find the players pretty loose. Full Tilt Poker does a lot of advertising with their free poker site Full Tilt Poker.net and I think a lot of players are just learning the game.

They also have an excellent hand history section where it is very easy to go over the last 50 hands you played and see who won with a breakdown of the betting. Hand history is very important in checking the trends of the table and I find myself checking the hand history at Full Tilt more then at any other site because of how easy it is and with a quick glance you can see who won the hand.

Full Tilt Poker has a lot of popular tournaments including their weekly $750k guaranteed. They have poker tournaments starting every hour with a mix of guaranteed, satellites, re-buys and sit and go tournaments.

They don’t have as many guaranteed as I would like and less than most poker sites their size. I find that Full Tilt Poker.net tournament buy-ins are usually either very low ($2-4 dollars) or high ($24+). They don’t have enough $10-15 dollar tournaments that I look for.

Full Tilt Poker has satellites for tournaments running all day. They are currently running 2008 WSOP satellites and every year offer a popular WSOP satellite tournament where in one tournament they give away 150 seats to the main event. They also run satellites for the Aussie millions and other major live poker events.

Full Tilt Poker allows US players to deposit using their Visa or Mastercard. They also accept ePassporte, Click2Pay and cash transfer. I have used my Visa and ePassporte without problems at Full Tilt.

When you withdraw at Full Tilt Poker and choose a check you will need to send verification forms by fax or email, they do this to check your identity and it is a one time process. If you deposit using ePassporte you will be able to withdraw your funds without having to verify your identity but then you are charged ePassporte fees so it’s a give and take.

I have to say that Full Tilt Poker support is lacking. They only offer email support and they aren’t as prompt as they should be in their responses. They do get back to you and are professional but I think they should speed up their response time.
