Full Tilt FTOPS XIV

FullTiltPoker.net, one of the internet’s premier poker sites, has just announced its fourteenth online poker series.  This series has serious payouts for the winning players as well as a number of different tournaments that different players can take advantage of.  This series begins November 4th and has a guaranteed payout of sixteen million dollars across the twenty five separate events that make up the series.

The biggest single payout is the Main event; paying out two and a half million dollars.  From there, the next biggest payout is the two-day event with 2 million dollars of prize money.  This event is unique in a couple ways.  First of all, the buy in is fairly high for an internet tournament at two thousand, two hundred and sixty dollars.  This is then turned into 6000 chips to be used for play.  The structure of the tournament is also unique; with thirty minute ante periods and two days of play before the winner is selected.

The Full Tilt Online Poker Tournament Series also offers a number of a prizes on top of the cash prizes.  For the people that make it to final round tables, they get a Full Tilt jacket.  Anyone that wins an event gets a jacket, as well as a gold jersey.  On top of this, their site avatar gets a golden jersey as well.  Full Tilt has avatars so that each person has a character on the site and only a select few get the distinction of the golden jersey.  For the person that is the top player at the end of the series, they will get a fully customized Avatar, as well as entries into all of the next series tournaments, except the two-day tournament.

Full Tilt also offers mini entries.  This lets someone with a small budget enter the tournament for a much smaller entry fee.  The buy in is one-tenth and the payouts are similar.

Full Tilt Poker 2009 Update

FullTiltPoker.net has recently updated their software for 2009 and are looking to really change how poker room lobby’s work.

They have three types of lobby’s for players to choose from:

Classic – This is what most poker players are familiar with and is a simple list of tabs for the different poker games and then a selection of the poker limits for each game as well as different rule variations (NL, Limit, Pot Limit).

Basic – This is a way to find a poker game by selecting  your playing preference. Firs the currency: play money or real money, then players choose the type of game either: ring game, sit and go or tournament. They then narrow it down by game, limit, stakes and finally the last option is Play. The choices at play: Play FullRing Now (9 players), 6 players, Observe table or browse tables..which is a combination of the new basic and classic lobby which is now called…standard.

Standard – Is a combination of classic and basic with filters at the top and the full list of games below. Which in my opinion is the best way to go and I wouldn’t be surprised if this becomes the default for most players. It is very clean and allows players to set favorites on their favorite filters making it that much easier to find your favorite fulltiltpoker.net real money games.
They have also recently updated the full tilt poker replayer. It is more of a replay where you can step through the hand instead of the basic text and who won the hand image.
